27.5" tyres, also called 650b tyres, are the perfect compromise between the original smaller 26" and the larger 29" tyres. The positive characteristics of both variants are combined in one tyre. Compared to the large 29" wheels, the 27.5" wheels are significantly smaller, more manoeuvrable and more agile, similar to the even slightly smaller 26" wheels. They are made for narrow trails and technically demanding passages and also ensure good controllability and safety. Due to their size, they are also extremely robust, have good rolling characteristics and offer significantly more cornering stability and speed. Compared to 26" wheels, however, they maintain their smoothness and are much more suitable for touring. Even though they are a little slower to accelerate than the smaller wheels, they still have a higher top speed. The advantages that previously only corresponded to the 29er wheel. With the so-called split size, 27.5" or 29" tyres can be used, depending on the frame size, to ensure optimal riding characteristics for every need. Especially for smaller riders from a height of approx. 1.40m, the smaller wheels provide better control and safety, as well as easier handling, especially in tight corners. For riders taller than approx. 1.70m, the 29" wheels can be used for more comfort and traction. Here, the rolling behaviour is much better, but the agility has to be reduced.
In the meantime, there is even an extension to 27.5 + wheels, which are equipped with tyres up to 3.25" wide. This results in a combination of the manoeuvrability of 27.5 "s and the positive characteristics of a FatBike tyre.
The frame of the MTB Hardtail is almost exclusively made of aluminium or carbon. Its stiffness ensures optimal power transmission and forgives one or two riding errors. In addition, the selected components from Rock Shox, SRAM, Fox and Shimano ensure a wide range of high-quality models. The suspension travel ranges between 100mm and 130mm and ensures the ultimate riding fun even in rougher terrain.
The choice of bike, including the size of the wheels, must therefore be individually adapted to the body size, the area of use and the personal riding style due to the gigantic selection.
