27.5-inch e-bike hardtail MTB (e-mountain bike)
In the mountain bike sector, the hardtail stands for speed, maneuverability and precision. These bikes have their origins in 1973, when the first of these bikes were built in California. In keeping with the meaning of the word, these bikes were intended as sports equipment for tough off-road use and in the mountains. This laid the foundation for the revolution in cycling, and mountain bikes have become an indispensable part of the modern scene. They fulfill their purpose not only off-road, but also as children's bikes and touring bikes. Due to the thick, profiled tires and the suspension properties, these bikes provide a lot of safety and comfort.

27.5 inch as a new tire size
The first mountain bikes had 26-inch tires, which were the undisputed standard for decades. The small wheels were extremely maneuverable and easy to control. With the change in how bikes are used, away from off-roading and towards more touring-oriented rides, the demands on tires have also changed. The introduction of the extremely successful 29-inch tire (with its extremely smooth running) was quickly followed by the new "650B" standard, i.e. 27.5-inch. The hybrid size offers comparable smoothness and is significantly more maneuverable than the large wheels. This intermediate size is the optimal compromise for off-road driving, trails and slightly smaller drivers.
Electrically powered for more fun
It was a logical step to equip these widely used bikes with an electric motor. Manufacturers now rely exclusively on a mid-mounted motor that allows for a perfect center of gravity. Together with the battery and an adapted frame geometry, a 27.5-inch bike is an extremely precise and safe bicycle. The consistent further development of the motors and batteries means that ranges and driving performance can be achieved today that were previously unthinkable. And riding uphill is at least as much fun as riding downhill. The many settings, modes and functions of the display (up to and including navigation) make these bikes highly modern companions for everyday use.
Wide range of components
Manufacturers use the best and most proven models from the regular series for these series. This ensures that the bike itself works optimally. Similar to muscle-powered bikes, riders have all the options open to them with e-bikes as well. From affordable entry-level hardtails for touring, commuting and weekend excursions to high-performance bikes with carbon frames and Di2 shifting, there is something for everyone. Visually, the new batteries and motors are also increasingly blending in with the bike. Meanwhile, the electrical components are almost invisible and weigh only a fraction compared to the early days of this technology. Combined with the fresh colors and sporty look of the bikes, you get a sports device that refutes the formerly dusty reputation of e-bikes.
Commuters, trail fanatics, touring pros
These bikes are not limited to any one area of use. There is hardly another bike that can be used in so many ways as the 27.5-inch mountain bike. Whether you're a commuter, weekend tourer or professional trail rider, these bikes will inspire you with their sophisticated technology at a reasonable price.
