Product description
Cube Phenix C:68X SLX teamline - Hardtail Mountainbike
With its sophisticated C:62® carbon frame and rigid carbon fork, the Kathmandu Hybrid C:62 SLX 400X has the same rugged appeal as its illustrious forbears, but with a new focus on lower weight. The new Bosch SX motor and Kiox display with 400Wh battery continue the svelte theme, delivering up to 55Nm of smooth torque via Shimano's wide-ranging Deore 1x12 gears and rugged Newmen Beskar 30 wheels shod with grippy Schwalbe G-One Overland 50mm tyres and ultralight Schwalbe tubes. There is, of course, a full complement of practical accessories so you're ready for anything, whether it's a trip across town or overland. And, with powerful Shimano Deore hydraulic disc brakes, you can slow and stop safely in all weather conditions. It may be light, but it's no lightweight.
Frame and equipment
A lighter touring bike means you can take more with you, but low weight is no good without strength. That's why, for the Kathmandu Hybrid C:62, we used our tried-and-tested C:62® carbon to build a frame structure that combines the load-bearing capacity you need with the comfort and ride handling that you'd expect from CUBE. With a future-proof UDH gear hanger, advanced internal cable routing and Boost front and rear axles, it's both elegant and easy to live with. The rigid carbon fork is light and responsive, while the IC 3.0 rear carrier is adaptable and offers a sturdy platform for carrying whatever you need to take with you. Add the 400Wh battery, and it's the complete package for lightweight hybrid touring.

The advantages of 29 inch tires
29 inch is THE trend of the last few years, which was able to assert itself completely. Initially viewed critically by mountain bike purists and equipped with some teething troubles, the bike industry has recognized the trend and made it the new standard through continuous improvements. The advantage of the 29" tyres is the enormous running smoothness, which brings great advantages and saves power on long tours as well as uphill and downhill. Obstacles are easier to overcome due to the larger circumference of the wheels, and a greater distance is covered by turning the bottom bracket. By improvements and adjustments in the frame construction and the component selection, initial problems with the agility in the Trail and the optics of smaller frames were optimally balanced. Whether fully or hardtail, a 29 will take you far away.
