The latest technology
Manufacturers use extremely stable yet very light aluminum frames for their cross bikes. The design is based on the sporty models of racing bikes, but is significantly more stable. The components used are mainly from the mountain bike sector and are therefore extremely durable and robust. Unlike the related trekking bikes, cross bikes do not have add-on parts such as stands or mudguards. However, these parts can easily be retrofitted at any time. The 28-inch wheels are very smooth-running and noticeably thinner than on a mountain bike. Nevertheless, the tires provide sufficient traction and comfort when riding off-road.
A wide selection for all needs
The range of models is diverse and everyone will find the right bike. For beginners and occasional riders, there are models with classic rim brakes, always at a reasonable price but still decently equipped. For the ambitious touring pro and forest trail racer, however, there are also models with hydraulic disc brakes, XTR gear systems and extremely light carbon parts. The manufacturers' focus is always on the quality and safety of the components used. Even a somewhat harder pace, or wet and dirty conditions, have no influence on the functionality of these bikes.
Stand out or blend in?
The range of options is just as wide in terms of looks as it is technically. The slim aluminum frames emphasize the sporty design of these bikes and look significantly more dynamic than most trekking bikes. The clean look can be combined with either muted and serious or eye-catching and gaudy colors. Fully equipped models for use on public roads, with luggage racks, stands, lights and mudguards, are also available. All accessories can be inexpensively retrofitted and in a few moments, a cross bike can be converted into a roadworthy bike for city traffic.
Out into nature
When the next ride is on the cards, you can plan it however you like with a cross bike. This independence from the weather and surface conditions makes a cross bike a versatile and spontaneous companion. Whether uphill or downhill, road or forest path – your cross bike is ready for you.
