Young pilot successful in France
Mulhouse France, at the invitation of the Baden youth leader Patrick Theijs, Lars Gräter from TURA Untermünkheim made the journey to Mulhouse.
At the mountain bike race there, he had to compete against riders from all French departments.
“It was a mega event, with a great atmosphere, much bigger than we are used to in the junior cups in Germany”
Lars Gräter
said Gräter. In glorious weather, they set off on the flowing course through the forest near Mulhouse, which was peppered with jumps and a few metres of altitude.
As an unknown rider, Gräter started for the first time in the race series of the GrandEst region and had to line up at the back.
With a short start loop they tried to separate the field already at the beginning of the race. On asphalt they went into the forest. Already at the first climb, Gräter was able to work his way up into the leading group. At the end of the first lap, the TURA pilot came out of the forest at the front. In the further course of the race he did not let himself be taken out of the lead and continued to ride a strong and concentrated race.
After 35 minutes he happily crossed the finish line as the winner of the day with a gap of more than one minute to the strong field
“I am really happy to be among the front runners here with strong competition, this gives me self-confidence for the coming season”
Lars Gräter
said Gräter after the race. In fact, Gräter is currently running in the young U15 age group.
