Why are pedals not supplied with some bikes?

Are pedals included in the delivery? Why are bikes sometimes delivered without pedals?

We are often asked this very question. Sometimes in amazement, sometimes in annoyance. The question is quickly answered: it is not due to unnecessary thriftiness on the part of the manufacturer or the dealer. The reason is a higher demand of the respective cyclists and a larger radius of use.

Customers who buy a high-quality bike also want to adapt their pedals to their own needs and value individuality. This would make the pedals supplied by the manufacturer useless. Especially with road bikes it becomes clear: clipless pedals, or not? SPD, SPD-L or Look Keo. Cleats are very special and have to be adapted to the user and the footwear.

How do I find out whether pedals are included with my bike?

The product description in our online shop usually states whether pedals are included or not (on the right-hand side in the specifications).

Nevertheless, when buying a bike, we recommend that you always adapt the pedals to your needs and switch to a high-quality model, even if we send you some as an accommodation or for a test ride.
