The Easter weekend was a complete success for the professional road cycling team Intermarché-Wanty – both in sporting and symbolic terms. At three major races in Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands, the riders showed impressive performances, tactical skill and unbridled team spirit. They were supported by the Cube Litening C:68X, a high-performance racing bike with an aerodynamic carbon frame designed for absolute efficiency – perfect for classics and tours.

Georg Zimmermann celebrates overall victory at the Giro d’Abruzzo

It all started with the german rider Georg Zimmermann, who achieved his greatest career success to date at the Giro d’Abruzzo. The multi-day tour through the Italian region of Abruzzo was characterised by challenging stage profiles and a strong field of riders. Zimmermann presented himself in impressive form and was supported by his team-mates in exemplary fashion.

Thanks to Intermarché-Wanty‘s tactical control, the team was able to maintain its position at the front on crucial stages. Zimmermann took over the leader’s jersey after a powerful performance in the queen stage – and defended it confidently to the end. With a lead of eleven seconds, he secured overall victory and his first success in an international tour.

Simone Gualdi on the podium at Liège-Bastogne-Liège U23

Intermarché-Wanty also impressed in the U23 version of Liège-Bastogne-Liège, one of the most prestigious junior races on the calendar. Simone Gualdi showed a tactically clever and combative performance in the Ardennes.

The course demanded a lot from the riders. Gualdi rode an intelligent race, always staying at the front of the field and setting the decisive accents in the finale. Third place on the podium was the well-deserved reward – and a clear sign of his strong early form.

Outstanding performance by Louis Barré at the Amstel Gold Race for Intermarché-Wanty

The Amstel Gold Race, one of the most important one-day races in the WorldTour, was a big stage for Louis Barré – and he made impressive use of it. On the 253-kilometre course around Valkenburg in the Netherlands, he held his own in the group of favourites that dominated the race.

The course with its numerous short but steep climbs – including the legendary Cauberg – selected the field early on. Barré was consistently active, rode tactically clever and still had enough strength in the finale to secure sixth place. It was the best result for Intermarché-Wanty at the Amstel Gold Race since 2016 – a strong exclamation mark for the young Frenchman.

Maxence Place wins Monts et Châteaux Classic with solo breakaway

The crowning glory of the weekend was delivered by the young french rider Maxence Place at the Monts et Châteaux Classic in Belgium. He took a bold approach — and it paid off. With 36 kilometers to go, Place launched a courageous solo breakaway, steadily increasing his lead.

Despite the chasing peloton, Place kept his nerve, found his rhythm and rode towards the finish with impressive consistency. The first U23 victory of his career is proof of his talent and fighting spirit – and another success for Team Intermarché-Wanty.

Intermarché-Wanty and Cube Litening C:68X start the season in peak form

With victories, podium finishes and consistently strong performances, Intermarché-Wanty has made an impressive start to the 2025 season. The results in races such as the Giro d’Abruzzo, Liège-Bastogne-Liège U23, Amstel Gold Race and the Monts et Châteaux Classic underline the team’s high level of performance – and show how successfully talent, experience and material can be combined.

A key success factor here is the Cube Litening C:68X. This high-end road bike was developed for professional use, offering maximum aero performance and an ultra-light carbon frame made from CUBE’s innovative C:68X material. The Litening C:68X is not just a visual highlight – under real racing conditions it delivers exactly the efficiency, stiffness and riding dynamics that professionals need for top results.

CUBE is also working on other innovative projects that will further expand its portfolio in the road bike segment.
