How do I adjust the bicycle saddle correctly?
In 3 steps to the perfectly adjusted saddle
Adjust the saddle horizontally
An optimal riding position starts with the adjustment of the saddle. The saddle should first be adjusted horizontally with an Allen key or a spanner. The best way to do this is with a spirit level.
Move or tilt the saddle
Most seatposts have one or two clamping bolts that can be used to move or tilt the saddle.
Adjusting the saddle height
The saddle height can be adjusted by opening the Allen screw. There are various ways to determine the optimum saddle height.
The heel method
The heel method is a simple way to determine the optimum seat height. Sit on the saddle and place your heel on the pedal at the lowest point. The knee should now be fully extended. If you cannot reach the pedal, you must lower the saddle. If the knee is still slightly bent, the saddle must be higher. The saddle height can also be determined with a protractor (goniometer). The knee angle should be between 27 and 37 degrees.
