The history of Scott begins as early as 1958 - but not with bicycles, but with an aluminium ski pole that abruptly replaced almost all the bamboo and steel poles commonly used at the time. The American engineer and ski racer Ed Scott was responsible for the development and at the same time gave his name to the Scott brand. Over the years, the Scott company has developed into one of the most successful manufacturers of a wide range of sporting goods worldwide.
The cycling chapter begins in 1986 when Scott introduces its first mountain bike to the market. Numerous innovations followed, especially in the development of frames for various bicycle classes, such as Fully or Hardtail, Scott was always a pioneer in terms of material and weight. Scott set several records for the lightest frame. Twinloc technology should also be mentioned, which means that the rider never has to let go of the handlebar when he chooses the travel or blocks the suspension. In close cooperation with Bosch, Scott launched his first pedelec in 2011 and thus also entered the e-bike segment.
Thanks to seasonal product innovations and constant further development, Scott is considered one of the most innovative manufacturers in the field of cycling. With its excellent aluminium and carbon frames, Scott definitely belongs to the top class in terms of quality and performance. And this with a wide product range, from mountain bikes, racing bikes, cyclocross, city and trekking bikes, to junior and e-bikes. Highest performance at reasonable prices in all areas – that is what the Scott brand stands for.
