Road bikes for women
The need to develop special road bikes for ladies arose early on. As women usually have longer legs and a shorter upper body, the geometry of the men's bikes was a clear disadvantage. The arms fall asleep quickly due to the unfavourable sitting position, while the seat post is extended as much as possible. With a slightly longer seat, but shorter top tube and some other adjustments in the frame geometry, these bikes adapt perfectly to the demands of a sporty rider.
Aluminium frame
Thanks to the most modern technologies such as hydroforming and multiple concreting, aluminium frames achieve maximum stability with minimum weight. At the less stressed parts of the frame, the concretion saves material (and thus weight) while the heavily strained parts are kept thicker. Aluminium is weatherproof, rustproof and durable and requires less attention than a carbon frame. Smaller dents and dents do not lead directly to replacement.
Components and optics
The early women's series were unfortunately often blenders. Worse components and the same geometry were sold with a colorful look at higher prices than the corresponding bikes for men. Meanwhile, the manufacturers have made some improvements and the ambitious driver can choose between great and competitive models. The successes of the female drivers in the professional area were a decisive advantage during the development. Fortunately, the look was changed from cute colours to a certain seriousness. Slightly more subdued colours, a chic frame design and stylish details make these bikes the perfect sports equipment.
Endless applications
The potential of a road bike is often underestimated. These bikes are not only ideal for racing, but also for a sporty tour, the way to work or shopping downtown. Manoeuvrability and low weight are a clear advantage on the road. Especially in an urban environment, the proportion of dirt roads is decreasing all the time, so that a mountainbike with its heavy frame and thick tyres doesn't make any sense at all.
