Frame construction by Cube
The frame is completely built by Cube in noble 6061 aluminium. The mechanically formed tubes are both light and stable. The Agile Ride geometry always ensures the right seating position, no matter if trail or tour. The perfect handling of this bike makes it possible to complete daring descents safely and quickly. The bike is visually very attractive, especially due to the internal cables and the integrated mounting for the disc brake. The multi-layered varnish makes the frame and the paint resistant.
Technical perfection from Waldershof
As usual, Cube equips his Acid lavishly. For the used equipment, one can pay significantly more with other manufacturers. The Rock Shox Recon Silver air suspension fork is a powerful all-around fork with adjustable air suspension and hydraulic damping. The 100mm range of spring offers sufficient reserves for trails. With the Remote Lockout, you can block the suspension fork from the handlebar if necessary. This feature is especially appreciated for road rides or steep climbs. This prevents unnecessary energy from being consumed when the fork is immersed. Like the frame, the suspension fork is made of high-quality 6061 aluminium. The Shimano XT Shadow Plus rear derailleur provides propulsion. The 2 x 11 gears offer enough bandwidth to always find exactly the right gear on the mountain or at maximum speed. With Shimano's hydraulic disc brake, safe and easily controlled braking is guaranteed. Front derailleur, gear lever, crankset and cassette are at Shimano SLX level and make the Cube Acid a high-quality hardtail. Weighing just over 13 kilograms, the Acid is in a league with the entry-level bikes in the carbon sector and the models of Cube's Endurance and Race series.
The Cube Acid - orange, or black?
Optically, Cube has been going its way consistently for years. The bikes of the premium forge from Waldershof are immediately recognizable to everyone as a "cube". This is also the case with acid and the appearance appears sporty and aggressive due to the slim and perfectly processed aluminium tubes. The flat stem and the high-quality components in dark colours give an idea of the enormous performance of this bike. Cube offers its customers two paint finishes to choose from. The discreet "black n white" variant is rather understated and is suitable for a restrained appearance. The "orange n black" finish is the sheer opposite. Bright, colourful and striking, this design is a clear statement for sporty bikers. But no matter what color it should be, Cube has once again achieved an absolute highlight and the Cube Acid is one of the best hardtails in its price range!
